Director
Ms. Elizabeth Grezda
Executive Director
Lizzy is passionate to see each mother and baby receive the same excellent quality care she received while delivering her three babies at Queen Geraldine hospital. She brings with her 17 years of living and working in Albania, 8 of which she was active on the foundation board. She continues to enjoy the challenge of translating the concept of a hospital foundation in the west into the unique context of the Albanian medical system.

Mariglen Tanushi
Board Member
Mariglen Tanushi, Esq. completed his studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, as an outstanding student with high academic achievements. He successfully completed the Master of Science studies in Public Law, and upon graduation, he committed himself to the National School of Advocacy. Simultaneously, was employed as an Assistant Lawyer at legal offices in Tirana. He obtained his lawyer’s license from the National Chamber of Advocacy and currently serves as the head of the Legal and Procurement Department at “Queen Geraldine” University Hospital. He has engaged in the field of scientific research, where he has published a series of articles on legal matters and conducted several long-term training sessions on legal issues.
Mariglen got involved with the Mother and Child Hospital Foundation to give his contribution from the field of law and to inspire and help to manage the work of the Foundation.
Dr. Gary Russell
Board Member
Dr Gary Russell is a family physician in Tunkhannock, PA. After serving with the USAF for three years, he spent the next 28 years with Geisinger Medical Clinic caring for outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing care patients, including delivering infants and taking care of newborn children. While doing so, he was affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Geisinger Medical Center and Tyler Memorial Hospital. He received his medical degree from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine. He now focuses on geriatric medicine (including long-term care) and global health, serving with Samaritan’s Purse DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team) organization. He also volunteers teaching medical students and residents locally and internationally.
Anne Kretschmer
Board Member
- Midwife, Trainer
Anne is a German midwife who has enjoyed working with the Mother and Child Hospital Foundation and MamiCare since 2019. She has been a huge asset to the daily operations of the foundation and has been involved in teaching birth classes in public and private hospitals as well as prenatal classes. She uses her clinical skills to help moms at the state hospital with breastfeeding and does regular home visits. She is gifted at supporting women in this special stage of life.
Patrizia Memoli Bracci
Board Member
Patrizia Memoli Bracci has over 20 years of non-profit management experience in multinational environments having lived and held executive positions in three continents. She arrived in Albania 6 years ago and she has had the opportunity to collaborate with Mother and Child foundation first as a volunteer and now as a board member. In these years she has learned of the significant shortage of resources in the hospitals and other important challenges that the Albanian health care system faces. She has chosen to join the Foundation Board to channel her passion for social impact and her vision of a better world, into manageable projects that will ultimately reduce barriers to good health care and will build stronger communities.
Patrizia speaks 4 languages, holds a MS in Non-Profit Management from Northeastern University and has served on several Board of Directors.
Eneida Doku

Eneida has been on staff with the Foundation and MamiCare since 2019. Eneida’s background is in psychology, and she is gifted in administration and marketing. Eni has helped increase awareness about the work of the foundation in the community.

Bethany Lame
Pediatric Nurse
- Internationally Certified Lactation Consultant
Bethany came to our work just this year and has already become integral to the work of the Foundation in both health and outreach. Her concern to see healthier babies drew her towards studying breastfeeding in depth. She shares her knowledge with moms at the hospital and in the community with one-on-one consults and through educational material she helps to create.
Kejsi Sulaj
Finance Officer
- Sales Associate
Kejsi has recently been promoted into the position of Finance Officer upon completing her Master’s studies in Accounting. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail called commended her to her new responsibilities after a year of serving as a sales associate in our store.
